Whispers of Nature
My Travel – Iceland 🇮🇸
Well, there is much more to this place than meets the eye .. but the initial walk along the airport highway reminded me of a movie scene where one would land on a deserted planet and there wasn’t much to see in the distance except the gloomy weather, and rocks scattered in the fields.
Welcome to Reykjavík
Day 4 of my stay at Keflavik area. It’s October now and the weather is not all that good these days with constant winds and rain showers, which also contributed to my cancelled tour today. Snow might be falling by early afternoon.
So with a nice cup of coffee I relax in the common area.
I travelled by local bus from Keflavik to Reykjavík on Monday to do the Hop On-Hop Off City Sightseeing Tour. With 15 stops on the tour there was plenty to see even with the hiccups of the weather. From Harpa Concert Hall & Conference centre to my favourite stop Hallgrimskirkja ( Iceland’s largest church and main landmark) to Kringlan Shopping Centre there’s plenty to do to make new memories.
Like any place I have visited, Iceland also has its own beauty and charm. So much more to explore in this country!!!
Culture
“ The market is the best way to learn about local culture. Tip: A fish you can look in the eye isn’t going to deceive you. It’ll tell you if it’s fresh.”
In the land of Israel
Israel, that ancient and mysterious land, a name, a word so evocative, a place like no other, with the vast waters of the Mediterranean on one side, and a whole host of powerful Arab nations surrounding on all other sides, has been a strong and fascinating country for me to explore… and another key destination […]

My Travel – Egypt 🇪🇬
Egypt – Has always been a destination that sparked a considerable interest to me. On the outskirts of Cairo, the necropolis of Giza with three pyramids of Pharaohs Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure watched over by the Great Sphinx, is at the top of Egypt’s architectural heritage.
After seeing Cairo, I have seen yet another side to Egypt; beaches and diving sites on the Red Sea. With the sun-shine 360 days a year, beach vacations are the new triend here.
I have also had the privilege of visiting Alexandria. It is the second largest city and a major economic centre in Egypt, extending about 32 km along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea in the north central part of the country.
There is so much more of deserts, oasis, villages to be explored on my next trip to Egypt.
My Travel – Peru 🇵🇪
Machu Picchu, 2012 Trip – Like many other tourist I was drawn to the breath taking scenery of the Andes and the ancient Ruins @ 7,972 feet high. The best way to reach Machu Picchu is by walking the Inca Trail; a faster way ( if limmited by time like I was ) is by taking the Andes train from Cusco to Machu Picchu Pueblo ( Aguas Calientes ). The majority of the tourist activities involve exploring archaeological sites, the most popular being the Inca Trail. Most hikers leave from the outskirts of Cusco and descend stone steps to the trail, which passes thru various ancient sites, culminating at the zenith, Matchu Picchu.
I was lucky to do some shopping in Cusco and in Lima before my departure; browsing at the local markets at Alpaca sweaters, Andean hats, ponchos, pan flutes and Indian crafts like figurines and much more.
Thou its been a few years now, I still can’t quite describe the feeling of wow while visiting this amazing place. In short – Majestic!
