Combine the thrill of the Toboggan ride with the fabulous scenery of Madeira. Leaving Funchal , you will head through the outskirts to Monte, noted for its many fine properties and gardens. Drivers in straw hats are waiting just outside the Church to take you on your wicker basket ride, which covers the 2 mile descent in ten minutes. A cushioned seat softens the ride and you will be in the safe hands of the drivers, who run alongside, pushing and steering using their rubber-soled boots as brakes. Now heading into inland to Pico dos Barcelos, enjoy the stunning views of the town of Funchal and the southern villages coast scattered on green slopes.
Petched on the hill above Funchal is the twin-towered 18th century Church of our Lady. In the centre of the high altar stands the statue of Our Lady of Monte,
credited with being the source of many miracles.
Last stop on the tour at the Old Blandy’s Wine Lodge, with tasting of the heart-warming nectar synonymous with this enchanting island.

First time in 🇰🇾 I absolutely loved it there. Awesome place, great food 🥘, beach upon beach and friendly locals. Can’t wait to go back for a visit one day again 😍
At times I love to getaway from the big city and go for a nice 4 hour drive to the Mountains.
Even the 2 days away helps a lot to clear the mind, see new sites and relax. Quick stop at Chateau Lake Louise, Town of Banff or Jasper and your weekend sure can be very exciting.
Weather you like sports, sightseeing or just relaxing its sure a beautiful scenery all around.
